The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for working across multiple projects to monitor and improve schedule, commercial and quality performance on live construction sites.
This position is based in our new state of the art Head Office in Maynooth - an open plan office, with wonderful collaborative working areas, subsidised canteen, EV charging points, and is easily accessible by car or public transport.
Key Responsibilities & DutiesContinuous coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project progress and performance across the current portfolio of projects varying in sizes, from small housing developments to large mixed residential developments.Chair weekly project meetings with various site teams, highlighting key issues and recording same on systems that have been put in place.Working collaboratively with the various internal departments in developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking costs and budgets, monitoring, and reporting on project progress, identifying and mitigating project risks, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.Building strong relationships with site teams, working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.Analyse and resolve high impact issues that arise on site.Report to Head of Construction on project performance and risks.Review project schedules with site teams and schedulers to ensure programme logic is aligned and key critical path activities are defined.Work with the Pre-Construction team to set out project construction start dates and chair weekly meetings with the design, commercial and construction disciplines to track progress.Responsible for overseeing and training construction graduates in the organisation with the ability to mentor and train new graduates in construction practices and systems.Minimum RequirementsSignificant site/project management experience.Effective motivational attributes combined with proven managerial skills, coupled with strong commercial awareness are essential requirements.Experience with project management software and tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, project planning as well as a solid understanding of construction project management principles and practices.Experience in creating and updating project schedules would be an advantage, particularly the use of Power Project.Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Collaborative: Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.Customer Focused: Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.Safety First: Committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment.Can-Do: Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to go the extra mile.Innovative: Open to new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.BenefitsCompetitive salary in one of Ireland's fastest growing PLCs with regular compensation reviews.Performance related bonus.Comprehensive health insurance for you and your dependents.Contributory pension scheme.Tax saver travel and bike to work.Paid volunteering days.Continuous Professional development (CPD) programme & funding.Employee Assistance Programme.Long term illness cover.Peace of mind with life assurance.Family friendly policies including flexible parental leave, fertility leave, and paid maternity and paternity leaves.Employee committees - Employee Network Groups, Sports and Social, Great Place to Work.An exciting Wellbeing Programme with events and activities running throughout the year both online and in-person.Hybrid working.Flexible working.Glenveagh is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates from all sections of the community.
