Join our dedicated team in Networks Projects, we manage the delivery of major projects including design services and pre-capital allocation deliverables to the Networks business. Networks Projects supports Network Assets in the development of project scope and costs based on Technical Approvals (TAs) or Committed Project Parameters (CPPs).
We have a permanent position for a Project Development Engineer to join the Project Development Team to deliver the processes and systems required to meet ESBN's Capital Approval process.
Key Responsibilities Owning the end project deliverables during the Project Development phase, in particular business case success measures including time, cost, scope & quality whilst shadowing the PSDP for this phase of the project.Developing the Project Brief as set out by Network Assets and/or EirGrid into a viable Project Management Plan ready to transition from Project Development to Project Delivery stage.Delivering for approval the Scope of Works, Project Costs and Project Management Plans to agreed target timelines.For EPC and D&B projects, aid the development of the In & Out Of Scope, Interface Schedule and other relevant documents, in conjunction with the Project Delivery team and support the procurement process for the project.Manage the overall project deliverables for all stakeholders, coordinating inputs with the relevant stakeholders at project development stage.Knowledge, Skills and Experience A minimum of three years' experience in substation design.A good understanding of all elements of substation scoping, planning, design, costing, construction and commissioning.A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivery to EMPs safety, time, quality and cost objectives.Good commercial and project management understanding.The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.Excellent communication and report writing skills.A willingness to improve understanding of technical aspects related to substation design and interest in personal development.A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to meet agreed KPIs.Full drivers' licence and relevant competencies to visit ESBN substations and sites on their own.Qualifications Third level qualification or appropriate experience.It is preferred that the candidate has achieved the following:
PSDP Competency or CDMC equivalent.Location This role is based in either of EMP'S offices in OneDac, Dublin Airport or Little Island, Cork but travel to project locations as required is a key requirement of the role.
