Project Engineer We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Project Engineer for a global organization who develop and manufacture cutting edge safety products at their Galway site. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will mainly focus on product transfer and new product introduction projects as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects at the site.
Responsibilities Execute Continuous Improvement productivity gains while championing an industrial engineering approach through line balancing, layout, process flow, material management processes together with the Company's Operating System and industry best practice tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams, Poka Yoke, PFMEA, Kaizen, 6s, SPC & Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, VA/VE, Gemba, DFMA. Develop an intimate understanding (to technical level) of all manufacturing processes. Through data, continually improve quality and efficiency performance.Key member of the on-site Continuous Improvement team delivering annual cost savings to ~€700K in both visible and invisible factory. Enthusiastically identify and execute on improvement projects.Be a project lead key influencer/contributor, together with Engineering and Production Management, during Facility Layout and Production Line optimization, to bench level, during NPI.Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting Routings and other SAP requirements for Engineering.Development of Automation, draft comprehensive project reports and Cap-Ex justification.Deliver results and effectively present to both internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrate leadership through vision and values, while working with the Engineering Manager / CI Leader and Plant Manager, delivering strategic reports road-mapping Galway's mid to long term approach for both Automation and SMT considering Integration, Industry 4.0.Using an innovative and open-minded approach optimize existing complex equipment and processes. Make decisions using data and judgement but follow through on course of action.Supervise major aspects of multiple project plans (Budget development and monitoring, Automation, oversight of installation and commissioning of equipment).Meet project deadlines and assume responsibility for the quality of work produced by team members.Review work of other staff Technicians/Engineers from a mentoring, development and problem solving capacity. Support development of other team members and act as a problem-solving resource to other engineering staff and peers.Demonstrable capability to manage multiple deadlines and determine work priorities, majority of which is to be done autonomously.Effective communication using different tools, experience presenting to a broad spectrum of business stakeholders.Support other "first level" response functions of Manufacturing Engineering Technician and Test Engineering Technician as needed.Continue to develop and enhance Galway's Engineering network by connecting with peers throughout the organization and beyond.
