Could you be the full-time Project Engineering Manager we're looking for?
Purpose of the role   Manage the technical contractual scope of the project ensuring its delivery according to the quality, cost, performance and scheduled commitment originally agreed and, if applicable, updated as a result of negotiated variation orders.
Key accountabilities:    Manage the technical contractual scope of the project:  Be accountable for the customer acceptance of the project solution  Manage the project technical risks and the corresponding mitigation plan   Act as Contractors Engineering Manager leading the integration of multi-disciplined designs and construction activities  Together with the Project Manager, in case of contractual scope evolution, rise variation order and manage it  Validate the technical design choices with the peers and Solution Director   Identify which are the applicable regulations in the customer country/city and ensure they are taken into account in project solution design  Manage the project solution, including the customisation and specific configuration of the generic solution to meet Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance (QCDP) commitments:  Ensure, with support of the required experts and involving all stakeholders, that all the technical requirements of the contract are fully addressed throughout the project lifecycle, from the capture stage up to the demonstration   Act as a chairman of Project Change Control Board (CCB)  Be responsible of the project design and application engineering activities  Supervise Verification & Validation activities  Be accountable for Engineering WP QCD   Provide BOM  Verify Project Safety Case (scope, strategy and exported constraints)  Functionally lead the project engineering team:  Allocate Task(s) across Project Engineering team and ensure engineering activities follow-up  Together with Domain / Metier Leaders and Domain Department Heads, define the project engineering team organisation according to the project phase (and as defined in the EMP)  Deploy the applicable engineering process, methods & tools on the project  Manage and participate in the evaluation of the project engineering team  Share Environment, Health and Security (EHS) rules with project engineering team (receiving inputs from PM/Project EHS Manager/Coordinator)   Support assessment of the teams involved in project engineering activities, including the ones belonging to a different Regional Centre.
Manage the interface with the project core team:        Provide all technical documents to the project core team members for the industrialisation, sourcing, installation, test and commissioning (product BOQ, architecture schematics, ...)  Provide support to the Project Technical Manager on execution of technical activities on-shore (delegation of responsibility could be defined and formalised in the Engineering Management Plan of the Project)   Solve technical issues detected by different core team members  During project warranty, coordinate actions to support resolution of pending technical issues following Project Warranty Manager (PrWM) requirements  Support PrQSM to consolidate the REX of the Project and the Reliability Growth  Support Engineering Domain/Metiers Department Head to define/perform knowledge capitalisation   Educational Requirements   Mandatory:   Corporate membership of the IRSE or Chartered Engineer    Desirable:   MEng or BEng degree level education in an engineering discipline  Senior Engineering Manager (Projects) (7.8.230F) or Engineering Manager (Projects) (7.8.110F) IRSE license.
Experience   Mandatory:   Engineering background including project deployment full lifecycle view  Hands-on experience on functional or hierarchical team management   Cost and planning control experience in engineering scope  Hands-on experience on Customer relationship in contractual situations    Desirable :  Products and services knowledge on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M)  Knowledge of Signalling Principles (based on UK oe EU practice)   Engineering product development full lifecycle view  Safety background  Understanding of SSI based solutions  Comprehension of telecoms solutions & working practices   Knowledge of civils construction regulations, procedures and best practice.
