Overview:
Emerging Business targets new name investments from fast growth companies targeting the Global markets. Having dedicated focus on Emerging Business has meant that IDA tracks the next winners in every sector. Target companies are predominantly from the Technology sector (80% plus) but can come from across all sectors including consumer, medical technologies, engineering and financial services. The team delivers approximately 25 investments each year with average employment of 40 people per investment. The division has won 25% of all new names for the organisation over the last 7 years. This Department continues to be instrumental to growing Ireland's base of companies, particularly given the accelerating pace of disruption in AI.
Job Purpose:
To work as part of the Emerging Business Global Team in supporting efforts to secure foreign direct investments to Ireland by actively contributing to the winning of high-quality investments from new name clients to support the implementation of the IDA Strategy "Driving Recovery and Sustainable Growth 2021-2024" for the Department. In particular, this role will have a focus on European and UK markets. Key Tasks: To work with the Global Team & Overseas executives to capture and develop an in-depth knowledge of the underlying trends and dynamics of emerging companies and ensure this in-depth knowledge (including business and functional area knowledge) is used to influence the growth of the business, with a particular emphasis on our Regional agenda and related Regional targets.To support the team in winning new business from both new name greenfield and expansion investments in line with the IDA Strategy, "Driving Recovery and Sustainable Growth 2021-2024."To support development and growth of the respective subsector(s) and related client portfolio through both the new name and existing client base.To represent Ireland and IDA in the broader eco-system working as a partner and influencer towards the achievement of organisational goals.To support the management of relevant events aimed at generating interest in investing in Ireland amongst early stage companies.To work closely with overseas offices in developing and implementing a joint marketing strategy; in particular for the UK and European territories.To work with the investment community including venture capital and equity houses to influence investment decisions.To evaluate, prepare and present investment proposals to the IDA Ireland Board and internal Committees.To maintain and update information on existing companies, target companies and industry trends using Salesforce.To contribute to the development of marketing materials and presentations.To drive effective client engagement in Ireland and at senior corporate levels through the Global Team and to work with other Global Teams in attracting investors from new high-growth markets and emerging companies.To organise and attend itineraries and to accompany overseas client companies on site visits throughout Ireland.To ensure that continuous learning and development is undertaken through informal and formal learning and participation in the Performance Management and Development Review Process.To ensure dignity, respect and equality are applied throughout the organisation and that a work life balance in the workplace is supported as much as possible.To ensure that IDA's values of People, Professionalism, Passion for Performance and Public Service are upheld at all times.To demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks as may be assigned and to manage and maintain good communications with colleagues across time-zones and cultures.Key Competencies Required: Client Focused Relationship BuildingSales & MarketingNegotiation & InfluencingKnowledge of the businessCommunications and Personal EffectivenessNetworkingProject ManagementCreativity & InnovationAdditional Requirements: Third level qualification, to a minimum Level 8 on the National Qualification Framework is essential.A full driving licence is essential.Ability to work well under pressure, independently and on own initiative.This role will require travel and working outside of normal office hours.Experience in the area of social media/digital marketing is desirable.Ongoing flexibility and interest in international career progression and development is required.Salary Scale:
€50,501 to €72,534 per annum contributory superannuation. Rising by long service increments to €74,277 (after 3 years satisfactory service at the maximum of the range) Non-negotiable to start at the minimum of the scale. Annual Increments of €2,730. Closing date: 15th November 2024.
