Project Hydrogeologist – Environment & Planning TOBIN is currently seeking a Project Hydrogeologist (with between 4-7 years experience) to join the Environment & Planning Team in our Dublin/Galway/Castlebar/Sligo or Limerick office (location flexible with hybrid-working option). Core Competency The successful candidate must have the ability to work in and lead teams in the collection of field data and in the preparation of relevant sections of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), hydrogeological risk assessments, hydrogeological reports and groundwater resource assessments. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate experience in the design and implementation of hydrogeological surveys and projects, drilling supervision and test pumping.
Duties and Responsibilities: Working with the existing team on hydrogeological aspects of various ongoing projects including input to desktop studies, field mapping, and reporting.Where directed by the Project Manager, liaise and meet with Clients to ensure delivery of required environmental reports, surveys and associated outputs.Review documents and GIS figures prepared by Graduate Scientists, Scientists and other Project Scientists.Preparation and review of environmental reports and figures using a variety of computer packages.Organising field surveys and liaising with clients and landowners.Undertake Fieldwork under the direction of more senior specialists, if required.Procurement of Site Investigations and Site Surveys from third parties.Assisting Project Scientists in the preparation of relevant chapters of EIARs/Planning & Environmental Consideration Reports (PECRs)/Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screenings/Natura Impact Statements (NISs).Direct liaison with peer reviewers, legal reviewers, clients etc. to agree and finalise deliverables to the requisite standard.Preparation and attendance at Open Days/Evenings and Public Consultation Events.Assisting our Project Managers in the preparation of tender responses.Take instruction from Line Manager (and where appropriate the relevant Project Manager and senior members of the project teams).Qualifications & Experience Required: MSc Degree in Hydrogeology;Excellent interpersonal skills;Good knowledge of Irish hydrogeology;Proven field skills;Excellent report writing and communication skills;Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation and planning requirements;Demonstrate experience in assisting in managing projects including financial management;Must be physically fit and be willing and able to work in all weather conditions necessary to carry out the collection of data;Full driving licence;Be prepared to work throughout Ireland depending on contracts available at the time.How to Apply: If you feel that this opportunity is something you may be interested in and would like an opportunity to discuss the matter further, please forward your c.v. to ******.
