Facilities Management Overview Facilities Management (FM) manages and maintains over 90 properties in the ESB Property portfolio for over 7000 staff.
FM is responsible for delivering a wide range of building-related projects to ensure that the ESB Group can operate in well-maintained, safe, and sustainable workplace environments.
Within FM, the capital projects team is responsible for delivering the capital works programme across ESB through a multi-disciplinary professional team consisting of internal and external resources.
Role Overview The role of the Capital Projects Project Manager is to work as part of the Capital Projects team in the capacity of designer and project manager in multidisciplinary teams delivering projects to the ESB group.
The projects typically involve construction on existing premises and vary from internal fit-outs and services upgrades to fabric upgrades and whole building upgrades.
Familiarity with building regulations and their applicability to existing circumstances is essential.
Key Responsibilities Deliver a series of projects of varying complexity annually as part of the overall Capital Works program in FM for a range of internal ESB customers, aligned to ESB Net Zero strategy.Assemble and manage appropriate design teams from professional and construction industry framework panels to carry out necessary work and provide relevant services for projects.
Manage these consultants on each project in line with ESB policies, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.Act as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) on relevant projects and advise on optimum design solutions for building projects.Manage stakeholder relationships and provide timely reporting on project progress and issues to stakeholders and Senior Capital PM Management.Ensure compliance with planning and building regulatory frameworks and legislation on projects, along with ESB policies and procedures, particularly managing the permit to work system on all projects.Contribute to policies and procedures in line with ESB policies and statutory legislation to ensure projects are executed safely, cost-effectively, and professionally.Collaborate with the Facility Management team to ensure a complete handover to the maintenance phase of the project by other members of the Facilities team.Produce sketch scheme proposals, tender information, construction information, and as-built information for projects, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope of works documents.Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is essential.Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.SafePass certification.Strong experience in construction project management.Experience managing both internal and external stakeholders.Experience in delivering building projects related to offices, stores, depots, and protected structures.Strong knowledge of statutory obligations related to Health and Safety legislation and its application in the workplace.Ability to plan work to deadlines.Experience and knowledge of permit to work systems, including risk assessment and method statements with an emphasis on safety.IOSH Managing Safety in Construction certification.Sound knowledge of legislation relating to planning, construction, health & safety, energy, and conservation in buildings.Good interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to organize and motivate teams.Good working knowledge of the legal, regulatory, and governance framework within which ESB operates, adhering to corporate policies, protocols, and procedures.Experience in cost management on construction projects.Experience in delivering M&E projects related to offices, stores, and vehicle garages.Location This position will be based in ESB's Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.
