As a result of securing several new contracts, CField is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead projects from commencement to completion. SUMMARY OF ROLE:The Project Manager will report directly to the Construction Director – Life Sciences and work in conjunction with the Commercial Department. It will also work closely with all support functions across the business including Purchasing, IT, Finance, HR, EHS and Quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the project(s) from commencement through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget whilst meeting the client's requirements in terms of specification and quality of finish. They may be responsible for a single contract or several smaller contracts, depending on operational requirements. At all times, the Project Manager is CField's first point of contact for members of the public, clients, site staff and subcontractors for the duration of the contract. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties include but are not limited to:
Providing leadership to the project team to drive high performance through all aspects of the projectEnsuring all of the requirements of the role of PSCS are adhered to and that Health & Safety standards on site are of the highest possible standardUnderstanding and being fully familiar with the contract documents – drawings, specifications, BOQ etcDeveloping and maintaining collaborative and professional relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholdersManaging client expectations, ensuring that these are metTracking progress and ensuring the contract is completed on scheduleMonitoring Sub-Contractor performance in relation to Health and Safety, Quality, Cost and ProgrammeLiaising and working with the Quantity Surveyor to manage the costs on the project and ensure targets are achievedMaintaining positive communication with the public and regulatory bodies regarding queries/complaintsChampioning high ISO standards, ensuring site activities are co-ordinated in accordance with the company's systems and proceduresProviding regular accurate reporting to the Construction Director, advising of progress on site and issues affecting targets and objectives for the projectIdentifying and proposing areas for improvement in the Company's processesManaging the Design Team, critiquing and challenging the design while ensuring information is available for procurement as requiredManaging and organising the Site Team and ensure clear programme and quality targets are communicated and deliveredCommitting to maximising value for the client and deliver projects on time and within budgetWorking proactively with the Commercial team to manage the costs on the project and ensure targets are achievedPlanning for all purchasing and sub-contractor appointmentsAttending and chairing effective management team meetingsAttending pre-qualification interviews for new contracts as and when requiredRepresenting CField at client/consultant progress meetings, preparing and responding to the requirements of the meetingsManaging an effective process to ensure the as-built document process and handover file and BCAR is delivered on timeSupporting and advising the Project QS/QS in the preparation and agreement of final accountsCompleting any other duties as assigned by ManagementImplement effective project planning to mitigate any potential project risks.KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Minimum 5 years' experience within the Life Sciences sector is essentialRelevant Third level Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent is preferableStrong commercial acumen, with a good knowledge of current technical building regulationsExcellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholdersProactive, with strong problem-solving abilityStraight talking and takes responsibilityStrong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead and motivateExcellent IT Skills, proficient in MS Office and the use of MS Project and other PM planning toolsCOMPANY BENEFITS:Company PensionCompany sponsored events & social activitiesThis job description is intended to cover the minimum duties and responsibilities required for this position.
