The project manager will directly report to the client's programme manager/regional lead.
Responsibilities:Promote Mace's value of Safety First, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned and using safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support the safety and wellbeing of all Mace staff.Possess technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people in your team.Ensure quality systems are suitably managed in line with service excellence.Deliver and manage project plans from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.Manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of senior project managers and other leaders, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of the project.Manage the delivery of identified capital, infrastructure or water network management (WNM) projects focusing on budget, schedule and quality output.Oversee the management of construction project design, estimation and project planning including all relevant statutory processes, procurement management and maintenance forecasting.Manage the project control, including resourcing and service delivery requirements, ensuring consultant supervision where relevant and approving all payment certificates.Manage the production and approval of project delivery plans, contractor plans, cash flow projections and earned value analysis.Supervise the project close-out activities, including commissioning and handover to operations and maintenance.Perform any other duties delegated by the senior project manager or client's programme management team.Qualifications:Degree qualification or equivalent with professional work experience in engineering, construction or related project management discipline.Experience in managing large or multiple infrastructures, capital projects or programmes (ideally in the water utility).Experience in project management ideally in the water utility within a construction or consultancy background.Capability of mobilising and managing the supply chain, including design, planning and construction services.Strong knowledge and experience in project/programme management, contract management, strategic planning, and construction delivery best practice.Familiarity with using project, programme and financial management tools such as Oracle and Primavera P6 or similar.Background in managing a varied team, commercial contract management and conflict resolution skills.You'll also have:Proven track record of dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion.Proven ability to successfully implement and execute programmes and drive high performance.Interest in the industry and staying up to date with professional trends.Excellent written communication skills, clear and concise.Strong business acumen with a financial perspective at the forefront.Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the relevant sector.Driving licence and vehicle is desirable.Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
