Job Title:Project Officer Reporting to:Science and Technology Programme Manager Location:RDS Contract Duration:Fixed-term - 2 years Closing Date:30th August About the RDS The RDS is a philanthropic organisation which, since its establishment in 1731, has helped Ireland to thrive culturally and economically. The RDS has a number of income streams which support this mission, including Membership and Fundraising. The RDS currently has around 3,000 Members in its database, some of whom are philanthropic donors of the Foundations programmes in areas such as Arts, Agriculture, Enterprise, Equestrian and Science. About the Role Job Purpose: Assist the Programme Manager in planning and delivering the Science and Technology Programme. Key Responsibilities Assist the Programme Manager in the delivery of events and activities across the Science and Technology programme. Manage the delivery of ESB Science Blast events including the coordination of a large number of external suppliers. ESB Science Blast is an educational STEM event run in 3 venues (Dublin, Limerick and Belfast), across 8 days involving 17,000 primary school children. Manage the judging process for ESB Science Blast. Management of this process includes the recruitment, training and briefing of judges prior to each of the 3 events. Recruit and manage exhibitors for each ESB Science Blast event under specific themes. Manage the procurement process in relation to all events including development of tenders and raising of POs. Manage programme communications including social media, website and PR in conjunction with the Communications team. Develop and manage stakeholder events in conjunction with the Fundraising Team. Conduct annual evaluation of programmes including surveys to ensure projects are on track and achieve goals. Provide assistance in the preparation of internal and external reports. Provide support for additional Science programme activities and other RDS projects, events or activities as directed by the Programme Manager. Person Specification Experience: At least 3 years previous experience in a similar position which includes project / event management is essential. Experience managing multiple supplier and stakeholder relationships. Experience managing budgets. Experience in communication / marketing. Experience of working within the education sector in Ireland (ROI and NI) would be beneficial.
