Our client, a leading contractor specializing in roadworks and infrastructure, is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join their Galway-based team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and enforce health and safety procedures and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training to employees and subcontractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments and training sessions.
Collaborate with site teams and management to address health and safety issues and implement best practices.
Liaise with external regulatory bodies to ensure all projects adhere to safety standards.
Promote a proactive safety culture, encouraging continuous improvement and awareness among site personnel.
Requirements: Minimum of 4 years experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the roadworks or construction sector.
Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence site teams.
Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Full driving license and flexibility to travel to sites across Galway and surrounding areas.
