Job Purpose: The role of the Public Affairs Officer is to provide support to the Head of Advocacy and Campaigns, The Public Affairs Team, and the wider CPAF Team.
The main focus of the role will be in the areas of administrative support, research, compiling submissions, and lobbying.
The post holder will also be responsible for assisting with the organisation of meetings and campaign/advocacy events and assisting with the design and execution of campaigns on issues that are relevant to the Public Affairs and Advocacy and in line with Rehab Group's corporate objectives.
Minimum Requirements: An NFQ8 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline – policy development, law, political campaigning, politics, media and/or communications.At least two years relevant experience in the public/political/not-for-profit environment in Ireland.Experience in the disability sector is a distinct advantage.Excellent IT skills and proficiency in MS Office.Excellent presentation skills.Job Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct research (qualitative and quantitative) to assist the Head of Advocacy and Campaigns in writing position papers in support of Rehab Group public affairs and Advocacy objectives.Assist in compiling submissions to Government departments and agencies relevant to the objectives of the Rehab Group.Research and scan the media and policy environment for developments relevant to organisational objectives and alert the Head of Advocacy and Campaigns as appropriate.Under the guidance of the Head of Advocacy and Campaigns, coordinate and execute lobbying and campaigning events.Coordinate Rehab's response to the Lobbying Register, on time.Additional Requirements: Liaise with elected representatives at local and national levels in pursuit of organisational objectives and specific campaigns.Act as a first point of contact for enquiries and respond to or refer enquiries as appropriate.Collaborate with Communications and Public Affairs Department in executing our Strategic Priority "to amplify the voice of our service users" and advocate on behalf of people with disabilities.Monitor and triage incoming Public Affairs emails.Benefits: Company Pension SchemeEducational leave27 days annual leaveBike to work schemeIncome protectionUnpaid leaveHealth and Wellbeing programmeDigital DoctorFinancial support for studying and study leaveLong Service Reward SchemeSick leaveEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)*Rewarding Career *Career with meaning *Attractive benefits *Work-life balance To view the full extensive job description, please click apply to visit our company site and download the attachment at the bottom of the page.
