Purchasing Manager /Buyer Our client, an established market leading Healthcare & Pharmacy supplies company, based in Limerick city, which has grown internationally by design innovation in consumer healthcare & pharmacy products, are now looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager/Buyer to join their expanding team.
The Role: Reporting to the Head of Finance, the ideal candidate will develop effective partnerships with suppliers in line with business strategy. As Purchasing Manager/Buyer you will drive the effectiveness and continuing development of the Supply Chain function, maximising On Time Delivery (OTD) whilst working closely with the Operations and Commercial teams.
Responsibilities to include: Manage and influence supplier performance whilst maintaining positive working relationships.Develop Service Level Agreements with new and existing suppliers.Oversee product stock planning and forecasting to ensure business KPIs are met on time.Oversee communications with freight forwarders and customs agents to arrange & manage inbound shipments.Negotiate competitive pricing with freight forwarders in Far East and Europe.Attend international and national trade shows to meet with new and existing suppliers.Liaise directly with suppliers to ensure the manufacturing process and its quality standards meet regulatory requirements.Maintain necessary product documentation for all products to ensure compliance with CE, ISO, IMB registration and other relevant authorities.Work with the Finance team on cost reduction to ensure competitiveness.Regular collaboration with NPD, Sales and Marketing departments to determine business needs.Lead, manage and develop the small Purchasing team.Skills & Experience that we need: Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Purchasing role.Relevant 3rd level qualification.Strong Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems).Strong commercial acumen is essential, with proven negotiation and analytical skills.Sound knowledge of sourcing from China and Europe.Knowledge of regulatory compliance within the medical devices industry.Proven leadership skills.The Offer: This position is a permanent role with salary depending on the candidates' skills & experience but expected base salary of €60K-€70K per annum, with some scope for higher for an exceptional candidate.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 4.30pm.
