Purchasing/Procurement Officer

We are looking for a Procurement Officer who has experience specifically with electrical contractors and suppliers. They will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the best quality equipment and goods at the most competitive prices.
Successful candidates will have experience developing strong working relationships with key suppliers and negotiating the best price.
Duties:Continually monitoring current processes/trends and discussing areas of improvement with Management.Negotiating with vendors and building positive relationships with key suppliers.Continually learning and developing product knowledge of electrical materials.Identifying savings opportunities.Purchasing equipment, materials, and/or services for assigned projects.Securing the quality and timely delivery of goods and/or services required for assigned projects.Identifying new supplier sources and recommending new sourcing strategies.Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials.Assisting the Estimating department with obtaining pre-tender quotations and resolving material specification issues.Minimum Requirements: Minimum 5 years previous experience within the construction industry & the purchasing of electrical equipment and materials experience is key for this position.
This position requires enthusiasm, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You will be required to have the ability to prioritise workload efficiently and report back to our commercial manager.
