Pernod Ricard's consolidated sales amounted to € 12,137 million in fiscal year FY23.What's involvedThe FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) Specialist role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and involves working as part of the Midleton Distillery Operations Team ensuring compliance with Quality and Food Safety legislation and standards.
The FSQA Specialist will work cross-functionally with Health & Safety and Environment & Energy departments on our Integrated Management System.
The role will be Site lead for FSQA standards ensuring regulatory compliance and successful outcome to auditsThe ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, excellent attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.Key responsibilities include:Site lead for IMS (Integrated QSE Management System for Quality & Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environment & Energy).Ensure the IMS meets the requirements of Quality, Food Safety and Feed Safety standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FEMAS) as well as Pernod Ricard standards (Operating Requirements).Liaise with Health & Safety and Environment & Energy coordinators to align the IMS with Health & Safety and Environment & Energy standards ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO50001Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures, IMS manual, PESTEL, SWOT, Objectives and Targets are reviewed and updated in accordance with standards and any updatesSchedule, prepare and document Management ReviewsManage internal audit schedule and team ensuring that schedule is adhered toReport on FSQA KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)Conduct internal and supplier audits.Coordinate and lead the HACCP & Food Safety TeamManage site Food Safety Culture Plan (including internal communications, Food Safety moments and Food Safety Day activities)Schedule, prepare and document HACCP reviews and Food Defence Reviews (TACCP/VACCP).Coordinate HACCP Pre-Requisite requirements including pest control, plant air monitoring, hygiene.Complete Management of Change reviews for FSQA requirementsManage approval of raw materials, chemicals and lubricants for food safety complianceManage approval of new product contact equipmentFSQA Point of contact for regulatory bodies, external auditors and Pernod RicardPrepare for and present at external audits conducted by regulatory bodies (e.g.
Department of Agriculture, HSE, Revenue Commissioners), external auditors (including NSAI) and Pernod Ricard auditsSupport Operations teams in complying with standards and preparing for audits.Site lead for IMS software (Entropy BSI, Intelex and Microsoft Office tools).
Ensure continual improvement of system and provide training and support to users.Ensure all FSQA incidents and non-conformances are reported and actioned in accordance with the QSE Management System.Drive continual improvement and completion of FSQA actions and nonconformancesMaintain the register of legislation relevant to Quality, Food Safety and Feed Safety.
Carry out reviews of new or changing legislation and ensure actions are assigned and completed to ensure Irish Distillers compliance and readiness for new or changed legislation Participate in site Safety Culture programme including safety audits and walkdowns/visits.Monitor and communicate relevant changes to FSQA standards and legislation.
Integrate new requirements into the IMS/QSE Management System.Work with Training department on Training requirements for FSQA including developing content for training courses, in-person and onlineDeliver training on FSQA topicsWhat are we looking for?
3rd level qualification in Science (Food Science /Biological Science/Chemistry)5+ years' experience working in a similar role in a regulated environment with ISO/BRC standards or equivalent.Strong working knowledge of Food & Feed safety legislationKnowledge of Health & Safety and Environment & Energy related legislation.Strong working knowledge of Quality, Food & Feed safety standards including ISO9001, ISO22000, FSSC22000/BRCKnowledge of Health & Safety and Environment & Energy standards, ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO50001Proactive approach to safetyTrained and experienced auditorExperience in preparing for and leading in internal and external audits.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in electronic document management systems.PowerBI an advantageCreative approach to developing and improving systems and communication of key information.What we offerWe understand our people are our special ingredient.
