ROLE OVERVIEW We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team in our Shannon, Ireland production facility as a Quality Officer.

The Quality Officer position provides support to Kwik Lok production in upholding the integrity of key management systems for quality, food safety, and other related regulatory and compliance programs.
This position will have the responsibility of making critical decisions regarding these various management systems and their respective certifications with a focus on continuous improvement across all aspects of the production process.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS Quality Maintain the knowledge of Kwik Lok's extrusion, production, and assembly processes to effectively develop and maintain management systems and relevant compliance programs.
Play a lead role in having the plant meet the required quality standards.
Collect production samples for analysis and maintain accurate records regarding color, thickness of material, and defects.
Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing quality events, serving as primary author of deviation reports.
Work with customers' and suppliers to meet their standard requirements.
Provide quality and food safety related documentation to satisfy their certification and regulatory requirements.
Work with and communicate effectively with both customers and the plant's management team for all customer-related quality and food safety concerns.
Attend plant team meetings and contribute insights to address quality and food safety concerns.
Work with Production Manager to coordinate quality training sessions for all employees.
Conduct food safety training for core employees and temporary workers.
Assist staff with information regarding product quality and legality.
Ensure necessary equipment used for quality assurance is calibrated in a timely manner and accurate records maintained.
Follow all company established food safety and quality guidelines and procedures.
Additional functions as assigned and needed for the good of the organization.
Health and Safety Play a lead role in having the plant meet the required health and safety standards Establish and maintain safe and healthy working conditions that align with local, state, and federal laws, including implementation of activities, policies and programs to reduce or eliminate physical and bodily health hazards.
Coordinate and maintain weekly/monthly 5S (safety walks) to monitor basic operating essentials such as: housekeeping, identify potential safety hazards (building structure, personnel, equipment etc.)
and provide documentation for any findings and vigorous reporting to ensure standards are met.
Ensure Health and Safety of the facility and the people within it.
Review Health and Safety Manuals and conduct risk analysis as onsite safety officer.
Ensure safety equipment is in good working order with accurate records maintained.
Attend plant team meetings and contribute insights to address health and safety concerns.
Work with Production Manager to coordinate safety training sessions for all employees.
Assist staff with information regarding facility safety and hygiene.
Compliance Coordinate required audits, working closely with the plant's management team and corporate Compliance Manager to lead preparation and readiness activities.
Ensure the facility's operations meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000 standards.
Provide necessary product and material information to external parties (i.e., customers) with respect to intellectual property that is considered confidential.
Manage integrated Quality and Environmental management systems and associated requirements.
Manage completion of non-conformance findings for all management systems and compliance programs.
Liaise with lead auditors for audits and ensure smooth audit processes.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience : Bachelor's degree in related field plus 2 years of related experience OR 4 years of related experience.
Related experience includes quality management, environmental management, and food safety management systems.
Must have experience with audits or be familiar with the fundamentals.
Knowledge : Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and FSSC 22000 standards.
Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.

Understanding of document control best practices.
Highly skilled in written and verbal communication that can effectively articulate technical language to a general audience and is capable to clearly communicate the task at hand.

ALL THE DETAILS… Salary: €35,000-45,000 commensurate with experience Health Insurance and Pension schemes Location: Shannon, Co. Clare Work Environment: Manufacturing facility – noise level 85-95 dB, frequently lifting to 40 lbs., intermittent physical activity (bend, squat, kneel, reach, sit, stand, walk).
