Quality Operations Technician This job description sets out the scope of the role of the Quality Operations Technician with the main duties of the position at the date when it was completed.

The post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties to co-operate with the general work of the organisation, as required by their line or department manager   Overview / Purpose of the Role   The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality support within the warehouses across all United Drug sites- Dublin, Limerick, Ballina and Baldonnell, support the wider quality team and collaborate with the Irish Medicines Verification Organisation (IMVO) and United Drug Key Account Managers (KAMs).
  The Quality Operations Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD).
The Quality Operations Technician will address any issues encountered by operations during FMD scanning activities, investigate product quality issues identified at goods receipt and review medicinal returns for compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
  Quality Operations Department   The United Drug Quality Operations team are responsible for ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Falsified Medicines Directive(FMD).
The team are responsible for providing support to internal and external customers.
 We support the major pharmaceutical companies within supply chain.
  The ability to work well under strict deadlines in fast-paced environments, the understanding of the complexity of supply chain, and knowledge of applicable regulations is crucial. Strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to manage priorities is essential.    Key Responsibilities Management of mismatches (batch/expiry/licence/serial/EAN/GTIN/CE Mark) at Goods-In and work with the wider quality team to ensure products are released without delay Communicate with operations teams on resolution of any mismatches to ensure stock is booked onto the system in a timely manner.  Perform ad hoc scanning of packs for FMD verification.
Log and investigate alerts triggered by FMD activities during inbound, outbound, returns and destruction operations.  Work with operations and Stock Control to ensure stock is physically and systematically segregated where relevant alerts are raised.  Liaise with wider quality team, KAM's and directly with Principals (Suppliers) in relation to resolution of alerts.  Conduct investigations into alerts at customer sites as requested by the IMVO.
Conduct investigations into complaints from customers in relation to alerts and aggregation issues.  Management of alerts on NMVS(National Medicines Verification System) Alerts for all United Drug sites.  Compile KPI's on scanning activity and alerts.
Quality checking of pack down/repacking activity.
Quality checking of returned medicinal products.  Assisting Quality Operations checking and filing delivery documentation, temperature files and loggers Ensure that relevant SOPs and Work Instructions are followed.
Investigate deviations with effective root cause analysis and appropriate identification of corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs).
  Other duties not identified above may be required   Key Experience / Skills / Education   Relevant experience (2yrs +) working in the pharmaceutical or regulated distribution industry or supply chain Third Level Education in supply chain or pharmaceutical regulation is not necessary but advantageous.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organisation.
Working knowledge of SAP or warehouse management systems and using spreadsheets and email.
Working knowledge of current Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) Strong organisational skills, including ability to follow assignments through to completion.
Demonstrated ability in problem solving.
Attention to detail and good follow through with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work towards deadlines.
Ability to work to work independently.
