Our client, a well-established Cork based contractor, is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor ideally with civils experience to oversee construction projects in the Cork area. This is a permanent position with a view to becoming an integral part of the company going forward.
Job Description: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful financial management of our construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to provide accurate and timely cost advice, cost planning, and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will work alongside the commercial manager and will be provided with adequate training and mentorship to become an integral part of the company going forward.
Responsibilities: Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiation & finalising subcontract orders, financial & commercial management of subcontractors to Final Account completion.Managing and reporting forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site records, document control, variation reporting, valuations, and assisting in site records & document control.Liaising with & commercially influencing/challenging the site management team while maintaining & protecting our clients' commercial & contractual entitlements.Managing & overseeing Assistant Quantity Surveyors & Trainee Quantity Surveyors, checking & taking responsibility for their work & signing off SMM/measurement issues.Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.Minimum of 4 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.Excellent communication, negotiation, and computer skills.Experience building and maintaining supplier relationships.A strong remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate.
