The engineer is expected to apply their engineering skill and expertise to develop sound technical solutions that satisfy user needs, while providing regular technical and schedule updates to peers and management.
Due to the nature of working in an early-stage start-up, the successful candidate will be involved in the early phase of product development and testing.
Job Requirements The engineer will translate design inputs into concepts and detailed designs, including specifications and test plans.Identify and select product materials, assembly methods and define process settings.Develop test models for prototype performance evaluations.Develop and execute test plans/protocols; analyse and interpret test results to identify optimal solutions to technical challenges and thoroughly document findings.Contribute to the project team to deliver key objectives, meeting performance, time and cost targets.Leverage and liaise with external vendors/resources to achieve project goals.Understand physician (user) techniques and clinical needs (disease state) and assist in developing product training materials.Support risk management activities during the development and manufacturing of the devices.Assist CAPA and Complaint Investigation processes. Key Skills: Strong design and technical ability based on a broad and deep knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.Strong work ethic, creative problem solving, capable of working on own initiative.Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills essential. Qualifications & Experience: Honours degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.A minimum of 2 years' experience in all stages of medical device design and development (including design with CAD, prototyping, and testing) is desired.
