DescriptionBDO Ireland have senior consultancy positions available within our Research and Development ("R&D") Tax Credit and grant incentives group for suitably qualified computer science, engineering, or science professionals. The role would provide the successful candidates with an opportunity to work with some of the most technologically innovative companies in Ireland across a wide range of sectors.
The successful candidates will be tasked with project management and will be involved in engaging with clients to ascertain the potential eligibility of their activities for the purposes of the R&D Tax Credit Regime and grant incentives. This role will suit candidates who enjoy technical discussions, scientific writing, and are confident in their ability to analyse and clearly communicate complex information.
The position will further provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to develop an understanding of the financial and technical aspects of business, as well as the impact of the R&D Tax Credit Regime and grant incentives on businesses.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe examination of client operations and processes to determine which qualify for these incentives, developing the appropriate methodology to claim those activities and the methods to maximise those incentivesThe planning, organisation and execution of the technical portion of engagements, including interviewing of technical and financial personnelThe assessment of R&D expenditures, time and activities involved within all of the projectsThe preparation of all necessary technical documentation as required by legislation, Revenue Guidelines, and awarding bodiesWorking with the client to help them develop their systems and know-how to assist in making future claimsClient assistance in certain discussions / audits that may arise with the Revenue Commissioners Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseMinimum 2-3 years' R&D experience in the area of Computer Science, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or related disciplinesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines, 2.1 result preferablyKnowledge of the R&D tax credit regime or grant incentives would be beneficial but is not essentialExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)Demonstrated report writing and presentation skillsAbility to quickly absorb and understand numerous technical concepts and translate these into technical reportsAbility to work under pressure and meet strict deadlinesAbility to work in a team environment as well as independentlyAdvanced skills in MS Office environment (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook), familiarity with the MS Office 365 suite would be advantageous BenefitsIncome Competitive salaryTravel Green Allowance VoucherEmployee referral scheme – "refer a friend".Pension schemeHealth Mini Health Assessments Digi DocGroup health schemesLife AssuranceCycle to Work schemeCSR, Sports and Social and Wellness CommitteesOn site gymCareer Career ProgressionBDO Learning & Development programmeCoverage of professional subscriptionLeave Together Anywhere LeaveAnnual Leave Purchase SchemeAdoptive Leave IncreaseLocation Free breakfast every dayState of the art officeCentral locationOn site caféOn site complementary baristaBDO endeavours to recruit and fill vacancies directly.
