Job Title and Grade Code Title: Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) in CAMHS (Eating Disorders) Irish Title: Ard-Altra Liachleachta (Meabhairshlinte) Grade Code: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health) 2268 Remuneration Salary Scale: (as of 01/06/2024) €70,185 - €72,317 - €74,437 - €79,298 - €80,263 - €82,498 - €84,692 Campaign Reference Reference: Closing Date Date and Time: Thursday 12th September 2024 at 12noon Proposed Interview Date(s) Interviews: Held as soon as possible after the closing date Notice: Candidates will normally be given at least one weeks notice Timescale: May be reduced in exceptional circumstances Taking Up Appointment Start Date: Indicated at job offer stage Location of Post Location: CHO1 Donegal Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services Vacancy: 1 permanent whole-time vacancy available in Donegal CAMHS Service Panel: May be formed for future vacancies (full/part-time) Details of Service Service Description: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) includes 3 community mental health teams across Donegal CAMHS is community-based; in-patient beds are sourced nationally Teams consist of multidisciplinary professionals, including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, dietitians, and administration staff Service is for young people (0-18 years) with moderate to severe mental health illnesses Role of RANP: Deliver evidence-based, person-centered interventions to children and young people Assessments, care planning, and clinical interventions for a caseload of service users with mental illness Key role in managing young people with eating disorders Responsibilities of RANP: Manage clinical caseload, organize care pathways, referrals, and follow-ups Collaborate with primary, secondary, and acute hospital services Advocate for social inclusion and provide an integrated approach to care Reporting Relationship Professionally Accountable To: Area Director of Nursing, Donegal Mental Health Services Clinically Accountable To: CAMHS Consultant DMHS Clinical Indemnity Indemnity Arrangements: Provided by States Claim Agencys Clinical Indemnity Scheme Scope of Practice: Must adhere to approved policies, protocols, procedures, and guidelines Key Working Relationships Includes: Director and Assistant Director of Nursing RANPs and other nursing grades Nurse Practice Development Coordinator Medical colleagues and inter-professional colleagues Patients, families, and carers Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Higher Education Institutions and Nursing Planning and Development Units National Clinical and Integrated Care Programmes Clinical Supervision Engagement: Ongoing clinical supervision as per a Memorandum of Understanding Record Keeping: Maintain records in a professional practice portfolio Purpose of the Post Advanced Practice Service: Provided by nurses practicing at a higher level of capability Provide safe, timely, evidence-based nurse-led care Comprehensive patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge Principal Duties and Responsibilities Competence Domains: Professional Values and Conduct Clinical-Decision Making Knowledge and Cognitive Competences Communication and Interpersonal Competences Management and Team Competences Leadership and Professional Scholarship Competences Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and Experience Statutory Registration: Registered in the Advanced Nurse Practitioner division of the NMBI register or eligible to register Experience: Broad base of clinical experience relevant to the advanced field of practice Demonstrates competencies relevant to the specialist area of advanced practice Annual Registration Requirement: Maintain live annual registration on the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Division of the register maintained by NMBI Confirm annual registration with NMBI to HSE via the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC) Health and Character Requirements Health: Must be fully competent and capable of performing duties Character: Must be of good character Post Specific Requirements Experience: Extensive experience in clinically complex Eating Disorder cases in CAMHS Other Requirements Specific to the Post Transport: Access to appropriate transport On-call: Participation in an on-call rota Skills, Competencies, and Knowledge Practice at Higher Level: Continue to demonstrate the ability across six domains of competence Specialist Knowledge: Required in Eating Disorder area of practice This list provides a structured outline of the job specification and terms for the Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) in CAMHS (Eating Disorders).
