The roles and responsibilities of Registrars working in the Endocrinology/Diabetes service of Cork University Hospital will include: General Internal Medicine:
Contribute to the acute on-call Medical take
Review inpatients admitted at ward level
Support junior members of staff
Diabetes and Endocrinology:
Contribute to the speciality ward referral rota (consults)
Attend various subspecialty clinics including but not limited to thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, reproductive endocrinology, diabetes technology, pregnancy and pre-conception, transition and young adult diabetes
Present cases at thyroid and pituitary MDT meetings
Teaching and Research:
Weekly departmental teaching including grand rounds, journal club and case based discussions
Opportunities to partake in ongoing research projects and support to develop a research interest
