Rehabilitation Assistant

We would like to invite applications for the role of Rehabilitation Assistant in Nenagh Rehabilitation Unit, on a Fulltime 12 Moths Fixed Term Contract The Rehab Assistant will work under the direction of and guidance of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to support the provision of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Services at Beaumont Lodge Transitional Care Unit.
Main Responsibilities Deliver an effective and efficient physiotherapy assistance service on an inpatient basis.
Assist in the transfer of patients to and from therapy.
Assist in the preparation of a treatment area i.e.
gym set up for rehab Assist the therapist with patients' assessment - assist patient to move, re-position/stabilise during an assessment.
Assist the therapist with treatment intervention.
Assist the therapist where two or more are required to treat a patient.
Carry out exercise programme with a patient.
Take patient through the exercise programme which the therapist has prescribed.
Document the above exercise programme intervention.
Mobilise patient with or without the therapist and documentation of same.
Carry out passive range of motion and assisted movement programmes.
Maintain and monitor consumable equipment.
Recognizes the importance of a good working relationship with frequent communication between the assistant and the supervising therapist.
Uses knowledge, training and skills to communicate effectively and appropriately with a range of different service users and providers Uses knowledge to observe confidentiality when handling patient information.
Assist with the personal care of patients.
