Role Title: Rehabilitation Officer Contract: Full-time, one year fixed term contract (maternity cover) Based: Head Office in Dublin 7 and agreed Headway services locations (Sandymount / Finglas / Clondalkin / Newbridge) Salary: In line with Social Care Worker scale You will work 35 hours per week, operating on daytime office hours Monday to Friday (time in lieu granted for evening/weekend if required).
Flexible working hours, in line with service delivery requirements.
Fixed term contract role to cover period of maternity leave Laptop and mobile phone provided for work use.
Work from home option for one day per week (ongoing cover and other requirements permitting).
Ongoing role-related and brain injury training.
Role Summary: Development and delivery of group modules and activities Facilitating clients to participate in activities within their own community.
Helping clients to overcome difficulties they encounter in their day-to-day activities, increasing confidence and independence through practical involvement.
Key worker for designated client case load Planning, administration, and project work as required by Manager External liaison and representation of Headway as required Support of other Headway teams and services in line with organisational requirements Primary Responsibilities: 1.0 Service Delivery 1.1 Work on behalf of Headway as a member of the Dublin Rehabilitation Team.
1.2 Contribute to provision of services to clients with ABI, with the support of Manager and Officers, including programme planning, implementation, and evaluation.
1.3 Act as a key worker to specific clients in line with the Headway service model.
1.4 Facilitate both one to one and group activities with and participate in the creative development of modules and activities.
1.5 Facilitate and support the work of interdisciplinary teams, liaising with other professionals and family members regularly to ensure clients needs are met.
1.6 Take responsibility for the needs of clients in line with relevant health and safety legislation and Headway policy/procedure.
To include: Take responsibility for the physical care of clients as required (including assistance with toileting needs).
Assist with the reception and departure of clients in Day Services centre.
Administer first aid if qualified to do so (at a level appropriate to post holders training and ability).
Maintain a safe and pleasant environment at all times 1.7 Undertake an equitable share of all general duties at the service locations to support the efficient running of the programmes (e.g.
clearing up before and after activities, tea making etc., and any other duties that may be required).
1.8 Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
2.0 Administration and Policy 2.1 Facilitate and support the work of the Rehabilitation Team.
2.2 Keep up to date with all general administration duties as required.
2.3 Maintain up to date documentation and reports in line with departmental policies and procedures, keeping Manager updated at all times.
2.4 Provide statistics and records of work as appropriate.
2.5 Follow and adhere to all Headway policies and procedures.
3.0 Training and Development 3.1 Keep up to date with knowledge of ABI developments.
3.2 Undertake any ABI / other training required by Manager.
3.3 Undertake regular Personal Development Reviews.
3.4 Attend meetings / conferences as required by Manager.
3.5 Participate in peer/clinical supervision in line with ongoing Headway policy and procedure.
4.0 Service Development 4.1 Participate in planning, development and evaluation of services as required.
4.2 Attend meetings as agreed with Manager.
4.3 Undertake specific projects as required.
Skills and Experience: Degree level qualification in social care/rehabilitation or other relevant discipline and experience working with people with disabilities.
Experience working with individuals with ABI an advantage but not required.
Recent graduates welcome to apply.
Group facilitation experience an advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliability and a flexible approach.
Excellent administrative, organisational and PC skills.
Strong client centred, ethical approach.
The ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Creativity (e.g., in using community resources, problem solving, dealing with client needs).
