Relief Care WorkerKilleshin Residential Service, Co. Sligo
Fixed-term Contract (12 months), Variable Hours
Job PurposeTo promote the development of independent living skills, and to assist service users in their daily living within a supported accommodation service; ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Minimum RequirementsMinimum QQI Level 5 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.Minimum 2 years previous experience of working with people with a disability.A clear understanding of the philosophy of independent living and community integration.Experience of facilitating a person centred plan.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnshrine the concept of independent living to include and assist clients in the selection of their meal menu, in the cooking of their meal and eating, promoting personal choice at all times; and facilitating and enabling clients to integrate with the local community and access local resources.Document information, update records, and complete necessary paperwork for communication and accountability purposes.Collate assessment and intervention information and utilise expertise for the purpose of developing an individualized community support service.Ensure all interaction with clients is approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporates choice.Additional RequirementsA flexible shift system will operate.Company Pension SchemeEducational leave27 days annual leaveBike to work schemeIncome protectionUnpaid leaveHealth and Wellbeing programmeDigital DoctorFinancial support for studying and study leaveLong Service Reward SchemeSick leaveEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)Rewarding Career, Career with meaning, attractive benefits, work life balance.
