Reporting to the Renewables Manager, the Renewables Service Executive will have responsibility for assisting with the business development of the renewables business and account management for key PPA & Biomethane accounts. The renewable PPA & Biomethane market in Ireland presents a real growth opportunity for Flogas Enterprise Solutions (FES) and this role exists to develop FES' business growth including innovation and growth in PPA & Biomethane and Corporate PPA & Biomethane markets.
Key Responsibilities: The purpose of this role is to generate revenue and margin through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs & Biomethane); developing tailored new and managed services to meet the operational needs of FES' PPA & Biomethane portfolio; and by growing FES' PPA & Biomethane services capabilities.Assessment of new business development opportunities, commercial analyses and representation of company to the market.Manage portfolio of PPA & Biomethane contracts, including day to day interactions and fulfilment of contractual obligations. Develop, maintain and expand account relationships primarily with a portfolio of renewable electricity producing businesses, and in support to colleagues to develop account relationships with energy consumers that have ambitious net zero and PPA & Biomethane targets.Represent FES' and DCC PLC's PPA & Biomethane business to the renewable industry in Ireland and, rarely as may be required, abroad.Develop network of contacts, partners and maintain excellent market awareness.Identify new margin generating opportunities to support innovation and develop/maintain market-leading position in Irish PPA & Biomethane market. Identify new opportunities for new product launches and liaise with internal stakeholders to deliver on these opportunities. Stay abreast of and ahead of industry and regulatory developments relevant to renewables and power; and actively seek to influence these developments in FES' and customers' interests.Manage the set up and switchover process of PPAs & Biomethane and dealing with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Ensuring all PPAs & Biomethane contract obligations and processes are being adhered to.Preparing business cases for renewable opportunities, commercial and contract negotiations, and support business and financial planning through regular and ad-hoc reporting on business line performance.Promote FES' PPA & Biomethane business and build and develop relationships with banks, legal advisors, industry bodies (e.g. IWFA, WEI, ISEA, RGFI, etc.), and strategic partners through networking events and regular meetings. Promote FES' PPA & Biomethane business internally and externally through presentations and other speaking opportunities; and communicate internally the opportunities and challenges as the market evolves.Develop a broad base of expertise (commercial, contractual, market technical, operational, quality, risk & control, financial, billing, networks, marketing) in the business to support a growing and complex business line.Work collaboratively and support colleagues in the development, selling and implementation of PPA & Biomethane related offerings ensuring robust contractual frameworks and supporting process integration to maximize commercial benefit, minimize commercial risk for FES and ensure optimal process execution by FES.Regular reporting on the performance of FES PPA & Biomethane business development performance, activities and processes.Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to engage with customers and suppliers through face-to-face, phone, and email interactions. Strong persuasive abilities, people management skills, and a team-oriented approach are essential. They will have a proven local network to generate leads from large renewable energy producers and energy users, alongside 3+ years of B2B, field-based business development experience, preferably in the industrial and commercial sectors. The candidate will excel in customer service delivery, demonstrating measurable results in account management.
A third-level qualification or equivalent is required, and experience or knowledge of energy services would be a distinct advantage. Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive, the candidate will have a successful track record in direct corporate sales and a passion for customer service. They will be highly organised, capable of distinguishing value-based selling from price-based selling, and able to work independently.
