The Saint John of God Research Foundation clg provides a research infrastructure and developing a culture of inquiry across the Saint John of God Hospitaller Services Group.
Our mission is to support the Hospitaller Services Group in achieving a service informed by research which will identify, respond to and support the needs of all individuals in the manner of Saint John of God.
The Research Foundation funds research into mental health, intellectual disability and old age.
The Company also supports research throughout Saint John of God Services through its Research Support Service and Library & Information Services.
We advocate for the men, women and children who use our services, we share research findings and we facilitate professional training through our annual conferences and seminar series.
Job Description Research Assistant Full time for a 4-month period (initially) Job Description: The successful candidate will be employed by the Saint John of God Research Foundation to provide support to projects within the DETECT Early Intervention in Psychosis Service located in St John of God Community Mental Health Services.
The Research Assistant will be involved in qualitative (semi-structured interviews) and quantitative data collection, analysis, and write-up.
They will also be required to present their findings at suitable fora.
Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct the research activities of the specified study, under the supervision of the PI.
This will include planning and coordinating data collection & analysis.
Conduct semi-structured interviews to gather data on research topic.
Transcribe and analyse research data, ensuring data is managed sensitively and all data protection procedures are rigorously maintained.
Preparation of reports and publications for internal and external audiences Carry out administrative work associated with the specified research projects.
Develop a data management plan for the data and record clearly.
Comply with ethics approval and grant awardee approval processes, agreements and recommendations.
Comply with all relevant organisational policies and procedures.
Comply with GDPR and Health Research Regulations 2018.
Performance of any other duties associated as may reasonably be required within the general scope and level of the post which may be assigned by the PI.
Liaising with, establishing and maintaining connections with the research team and various other healthcare professionals and relevant stakeholders Key Competencies: Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in Psychology from a recognised University Knowledge & Experience (Essential): A proven track record in research Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Excellent computing and analytic skills Proficient in the use of SPSS and/or other similar databases Highly organised, compassionate, and committed to professionalism Adaptable, dependable, reliable, and responsible Desirable Criteria: Completed or about to complete a masters degree in psychology Previous experience preparing written reports for publication Experience working with vulnerable populations and carers is highly desirable Full Clean Drivers licence and access to a car is highly desirable Salary: Point 2 Research Assistant Salary Scale (€18.00 per hour) Job Benefits: Parking Hybrid working arrangements Library service Research support Start date: Position is available from November 2024 Deadline for applications: Friday, 11th Oct 2024 @ 5pm Interview date: October 2024 (Date & Time TBC) NB: The successful applicant will be required to complete Garda Vetting.
