TILDA's interdisciplinary team, including epidemiologists, biostatisticians, economists, social scientists, biomedical engineers, and clinicians, conducts this extensive study and disseminates its findings.
The role of the postdoctoral researcher is to lead on research and conduct advanced statistical analyses related to tackling the health and social care challenge of multimorbidity (the presence of two or more medical conditions) by characterising longitudinal multimorbidity trajectories; identifying disease combinations which impact on early mortality and quality-of-life and providing 20-year population representative projections for service planning and delivery.The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research related to projecting 20-year multimorbidity trends and investigating their effect on Health Care Usage, Costs and Quality of Life in older Irish adults.
They will also be responsible for the dissemination, publication and presentation of these results nationally and internationally.
The research conducted as part of this project will address national and international knowledge gaps in multimorbidity and will directly impact on service and resource planning for the HSE.
