Winner of CHKS International Quality Award 2011 and 2014 Arising from our ongoing development of Palliative Care Services in the West of Ireland, the Galway Hospice Governed Services is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our organisation in supporting patients with advanced diseases needing palliative care to attain the best quality of life possible.

Working at Galway Hospice Foundation with immediate effect- Research Manager 21 hpw (0.6WTE) Initial Fixed Term Contract (6 months) with a view to extension The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: Essential Education: - MSc in Research, Health Service Research or a related field and or PhD or Postdoc or Fellowship in a relevant field Research Experience: - Proven track record of active involvement in health service research, ideally in palliative care or related areas.
- Experience in managing and leading research projects from inception to completion Publication Record: - A strong portfolio of published research in peer-reviewed journals Clinical Inclination: - While a background in clinical training, is not mandatory, a strong understanding and appreciation of clinical practices is highly desirable.
Desirable: - Experience in palliative care research.
- Experience in securing research funding and grants.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and policies in Ireland.
- Ability to mentor and develop research skills in clinical staff.
Skills & Competencies: - Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in research methodologies and statistical analysis.
- Strong networking and collaboration skills.
