Role Information You will be working within Allianz Portfolio Underwriting, Technical Product Team, reporting to the Technical Product Manager – Retail Portfolio and Fleet. This role is a hybrid role and can be fulfilled mainly remotely, with attendance in the office Allianz House, Elmpark, Merrion Road, Dublin 4 agreed in advance on an occasional basis.
Job Purpose/Role The purpose of the role is to assist in the development, communication, and maintenance of underwriting policy and procedures and monitoring adherence to relevant Group and Regulatory Rules. This is a unique opportunity to pursue a career in a technical underwriting role. This role will support Home, Motor, and Fleet portfolios.
Key Responsibilities Develop, communicate and maintain underwriting policy and procedures.Design and maintain Home and Motor insurance products.Understand and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as the Consumer Protection and Data Protection codes.Conduct scheduled reviews and refreshes of policy documentation, including proposal forms, statements of fact, schedules, underwriting guides, and policy summaries.Design and conduct training for stakeholders following major policy refreshes to ensure that all changes are clearly understood.Serve as an escalation point for technical referrals from EUT, RUT, and Claims.Monitor adherence to underwriting procedures and manage breaches where they arise.Adjudicate on complaints, including FSO complaints. Ensure that complaints are recorded and addressed in line with agreed procedures.Proactively engage and ensure open and ongoing communications with all stakeholders.Be proactive in identifying ways to improve products, processes, and procedures to help make us more efficient and effective in what we do.Key Requirements, Skills, and Experience Essential Qualifications/Experience: CIP, ACII, or FCII qualified.A minimum of 5 years experience in the insurance industry dealing with Home, Motor, and Fleet lines of business.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Commitment to continuous improvement of quality and efficiency.Ability to work on own initiative.Desirable Experience/Qualifications: A relevant third level or professional qualification.Experience of Fleet/Retail Motor/Home Insurance.Experience of having served as an escalation point in respect of technical queries.Experience in communication to, and leadership of, people or teams.Experience in dealing with customers and formulating high-quality written responses.Experience of having been part of a project team in implementing business initiatives.Regulatory Notice This role is subject to Minimum Competency Code ("MCC") as provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland. A recognised insurance qualification may be required for this position. Appointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland. This role is a Control Function (CF-8) and is subject to F&P Standards. This includes the requirements provided for by the Central Bank (Individual Accountability Framework) Act 2023.
