Risk Framework Manager

AXA Ireland are recruiting for a Risk Framework Manager.Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will lead the office of the CROs and contribute to the strategic direction of the Risk & Compliance function.
As the Risk Framework Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing risk management and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards at AXA.
This position calls for a comprehensive grasp of risk management principles, regulatory mandates, and the capacity to create and uphold a strong risk framework customized to AXA's distinct requirements.At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.
You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, and our Dublin Head Office.What you'll be doing: ·Collaborate with the CRO to develop and communicate the Risk & Compliance function's strategy, driving the implementation of strategic initiatives and providing support to the CRO and the team.·Assist the CRO in addressing operational challenges, such as target operating models, succession planning, recruitment, and retention strategies.·Serve as a key liaison for the 2nd line of defence, managing internal and external communications and promoting positive staff engagement, as evidenced in Pulse scores.·Take charge of the day-to-day operations of the Risk team to ensure alignment with strategic goals, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, profitability, and reputation protection.·Ensure smooth quarterly reporting, including Risk Management Committee coordination, decision monitoring, and timely completion of outputs.
·Collaborate with internal and global risk teams on efficiency projects and framework consistency.
Develop, maintain, and align the risk management framework with regulations and best practices.·Implement policies and guidelines to mitigate risks, collaborate with stakeholders, lead risk training programs, support internal audit, and stay updated on regulatory and industry trends.·Assist the CRO in establishing and monitoring budgets for the Risk & Compliance function, collaborating with Finance to accurately reflect staff and non-staff costs, and guiding cost center owners to stay within their allocated budgets.Your Profile·5 years'+ experience in a similar role, leading teams fulfilling risk management functions within regulated financial services, preferably in insurance.·A relevant degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics or related subject.·Manager-level experience in various risk management areas, including operational risk and resilience.
·Proficient in implementing risk policies and procedures, providing accurate and timely reports to senior management and governance committees.
·Experience in designing, adapting, and managing ongoing testing and reporting processes.·Previous experience or knowledge of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes.
·Familiar with EU, EEA, and UK regulatory environments, risk requirements, and standards.
·Well-versed in risk management principles, methodologies, tools, and technological changes.·Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance, industry trends, and competitors.
·Meticulous, detail-oriented, with clear decision-making and leadership skills.
·Highly adaptable, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation capabilities, and a collaborative approach to work.
·Ability to challenge standard thinking and promote a data-led business.
