These services include older person rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, rheumatology rehabilitation, respiratory rehabilitation and rheumatology rehabilitation along with residential care for older persons, persons with intellectual disability and those with complex neuro disability.

Reporting Relationship Physiotherapy Manager Purpose of Post The provision of a quality Physiotherapy service in line with standards of Physiotherapy practice.
To provide quality, client-centred Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to identified client groups at designated centres as directed by the Physiotherapy Manager including: Respiratory (including outpatient service) Older persons rehabilitation Neurorehabilitation Stroke rehabilitation Rheumatology & musculoskeletal rehabilitation (including outpatient service) Neuro-disability and prolonged disorders of consciousness Residential services (older persons and intellectual disability) Eligibility Criteria Qualifications & Experience 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (a) Candidates for appointment must: (i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND (ii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND (iii) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Register Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

Annual registration (i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Desirable Criteria: Physiotherapy experience (including student placements) in one or more of the following specialties: - musculoskeletal/rheumatology - older person rehabilitation - neurorehabilitation - stroke - respiratory - pulmonary rehabilitation, oxygen clinic - neurodisability/prolonged disorders of consciousness - residential physiotherapy (older persons, intellectual disability) Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills Proven ability to work effectively in a team Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with patients and carers in a person-centred framework Excellent planning and organisation skills, with ability to adapt to change Demonstrate recent evidence of formal clinical continuing professional development Demonstrate experience in service development/quality improvement/clinical audit Principal Duties and Responsibilities Professional/ Clinical The Physiotherapist will: Be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment / intervention programmes for service users according to professional standards Arrange and carry out assessment and treatment / intervention programmes in appropriate settings in line with local policy / guidelines Communicate results of assessments and recommendations to the service user and relevant others as appropriate Document all assessment, diagnosis, treatment / intervention plans, clinical notes, relevant contacts, and summaries in accordance with department and professional standards Collaborate with service user, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment / intervention planning Foster close working relationships with colleagues and other relevant professionals in maximising the service users' potential Provide support and information to service users and relevant others Attend clinics and participate in meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc.

Carry out other duties as assigned by the Physiotherapy Manager Education & Training The Physiotherapist will: Participate in mandatory and recommended training programmes in accordance with departmental / organisational guidelines Maintain continuing professional development as approved by the Physiotherapy Manager e.g.
by attending in-service events, training courses, conferences, and involvement in research etc.
Engage in support / supervision with designated supervisor(s) / manager Provide teaching / training / supervision to others (e.g.
to staff, students, service users, carers etc.)

Tenure The Current Vacancy available is Temporary Rotational Basic Grade Physiotherapist.
The post is pensionable. A panel may be created from which permanent and temporary Basic Grade Physiotherapist vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.
The tenure of these posts will be indicated at "expression of interest' stage.
Appointment as an employee of Peamount Healthcare is governed by the Health Act 2004 and the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointment) Act 2004.
Remuneration Remuneration is in accordance with the salary scale approved by the Department of Health: Current salary scale with effect from €43,112 (point 1) - €61,916 (Point 14, LSI). Working Week The hours allocated to this post are 35 hours per week with 7 hours as a standard working day.
The allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with the needs of the service.
HSE Circular 003-2009 "Matching Working Patterns to Service Needs (Extended Working Day/Week Arrangements); Framework for Implementation of Clause 30.4 of Towards 2016" applies.
Under the terms of this circular, all new entrants and staff appointed to promotional posts from Dec 16th 2008 will be required to work agreed roster / on call arrangements as advised by their line manager.
Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8am-8pm over seven days to meet the requirements for extended day services in accordance with the terms of the Framework Agreement (Implementation of Clause 30.4 of Towards 2016 Annual Leave 27 days Pro Rata Probation All employees will be subject to a probationary period as per the probation policy.
This policy applies to all employees irrespective of the type of contract under which they have been employed.
A period of 6 months' probation will be served: On commencement of employment.
Fixed term to permanent contract.
Permanent employees commencing in promotional posts will also undertake a probationary period relating to their new post.
Pension Employees of Peamount Healthcare are required to be members of the Hospitals Superannuation Scheme.
Deductions at the appropriate rate will be made from your salary payment.

Maternity Maternity leave is granted in accordance with the terms of the Maternity Protection Acts 1994 and 2001.
Sick Leave Peamount Healthcare operates a Sickness Absence Management policy in line with the new Public Service Sick Leave Scheme as introduced in 31st March 2014.
An employee cannot avail of paid sick leave during their first 12 months of employment with the hospital.
Pre-Employment Health Assessment Prior to commencing in this role a person will be required to complete a form declaring their health status which is reviewed by the hospital's Occupational Health Service and if required undergo a medical assessment with this department.

Validation of Qualifications & Experience Any credit given to a candidate at interview, in respect of claims to qualifications, training and experience is provisional and is subject to verification.
