Could you be the full-time Scheme Project Manager in Cork we're looking for?
Your future role Alstom UK&I D&IS have an exciting opportunity to join our team based in Cork, delivering signalling works on the railway infrastructure.
As a Scheme Project Manager you will play a key role supporting our Project Manager or Lead Project Manager in managing the project programme and resources to deliver the planned works within budget, safely and within set timescales.
Responsibilities • Support our Project Manager or Lead Project Manager by managing and delivering significant elements of the contracted works in line with both client and internal requirements.
• Manage small / lower complexity projects or parts of larger or more complex projects • Manage and control costs, risks and opportunities associated with your remit, to ensure your remit is delivered in line with business expectations.
• Provide clear and precise reports on the status of project deliverables in line with the Project Management Plan.
• Identify resource requirements and work with your planning colleagues to build programmes including people, plant, materials and subcontractors' activities.
• Liaise with and project manage subcontractors, ensuring they are reporting their progress against programme and communicating issues and risks regularly • Represent Alstom at regular client and supplier meetings, and support colleagues in presenting to the client • Produce accurate and concise written reports internally and to the client.
• Maintain a strong delivery culture • Ensure the Project Risk Management process is regularly and accurately maintained.
• Understand standard industry contract conditions, contractual requirements and be able to identify key variations.
• Accurately track all deliverables through to a successful project close out Qualifications & Experience: • Experience working for a main contractor, consultant or client organisation, in a railway systems environment or similar environment • Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements applying to project activities, including CDM 2015 Regulations • Understanding of quantified risk assessments • Awareness of Network Rail or other major rail client contracts, standards and procedures • Understanding of scheduling / planning / programming principles • Knowledge of the duties of a Principal Contractor in a rail environment or similar • Comprehension of management systems • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It is also desirable for candidates to hold or be working towards a recognised professional qualification in Project Management (i.e.
