About this opportunity:
As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate Agile practices and ensure the Scrum process is effectively followed by all team members. In addition to typical Scrum Master duties, you will play a key role in managing the Virtual Scrum Team (VST), ensuring its activities align with other teams (e.g., other MicroService Teams, Application and Product Engineering). This role requires a good technical understanding, exceptional coordination, and driver-ship skills to ensure planned deliverables are met on time.
What you will do
Scrum Master Duties:
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
Remove impediments and blockers to ensure smooth team workflows.
Promote Agile principles and encourage continuous improvement within the team.
Serve as a servant-leader, empowering the team to deliver high-quality work while fostering collaboration and accountability.
VST Coordination Responsibilities:
Equal Prioritization of Teams:
Ensure the VST team is treated with the same importance as an own team
Advocate for VST needs and priorities in broader team discussions.
Role of the Driver:
Oversee the entire project scope, ensuring alignment and commitment from all VST members.
Technical Understanding and High-Level Overview:
Maintain a technical overview and high-level understanding of the tasks, dependencies, and project deliverables.
Provide input on technical risks and issues.
Delivery Commitment:
Plan and maintain firm delivery dates (Fx dates) with commitments from all VST members.
Ensure deliverables align with the plan, monitoring progress and following up with team members (including MS, AE, PE).
US Tracking and Follow-Up:
Actively track and follow up on whether all user stories (US) are progressing according to the plan.
Facilitate communication across teams to resolve bottlenecks.
Effective VST Meetings:
Organize and lead VST meetings that provide clear value and outcomes. Meetings may occur more frequently than once per week.
Ensure active and mandatory participation from all VST members, who represent their respective teams.
Team Representation:
Ensure each VST member represents their team effectively, even if other team members are executing tasks.
Resource Coordination:
Request and secure bandwidth (BW) reservations from all affected teams (MS, AE, PE) as needed.
Ticket Management:
Differentiate between planned activities and support tickets. Ensure support tickets are used solely for unforeseen help requests.
Collaboration with the Product Owner (PO):
Collaborate with the Product Owner for clarity on priorities but recognize that the PO does not hold execution responsibility.
Act as the primary driver for the VST deliverables and execution plan.
