Your new company Your new company was established in Galway in the 1990's.
Starting from primitive beginnings, they have grown to become the premier food logistics company in Ireland and the UK, with their services expanding onto mainland Europe also.
They now have over 200 staff and over 150 trucks servicing most of Europe, primarily in food and seafood distribution.
The company has been built on a track record of vision and innovation to become industry leaders, achieving growth year on year with no sign of slowing down just yet.
Your new role Your new role will be based in the finance team on the outskirts of Galway city.
You will report to the finance manager while leading the day-to-day operations of the finance team.
This is a high-volume environment so managing the team and delegating effectively will be key to success in this role.
You will also play a heavy hand in producing month-end management accounts and providing commentary, producing year-end financials, and assisting in the year-end audit process.
There is also opportunity for project work as the company looks to continue their growth into the future.
What you'll need to succeed You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with a track record of success in similar sized SME businesses.
People management experience would be a major advantage also, as well as significant systems knowledge.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential as is attention to detail.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a close-knit, hands-on environment where they would get exposure to all elements of the business.
