Architecture has been an integral part of Arup for over 50 years.
Our growing architecture team, based in Cork, has a vision to diversify its technical and sustainability offering in the coming years in collaboration with our established business portfolios.
We are looking for people who would like to join this community of Architects and Architectural Technologists in a mission to Shape a Better World by designing meaningful buildings that are sensitive to environmental and human needs whilst taking advantage of digital advancements. Ultimately, our designs aim to be simple, purposeful, efficient, and beautiful.
As an Architect at Arup, you will: Join a vibrant, diverse, multidisciplinary office in Cork. Working directly with the Architecture Discipline Lead, you will primarily support the Science, Industry and Technology (SIT) portfolio providing design leadership on some of our most prominent projects.
We're looking for a self-motivated, creative Architect, with 8 years' post-graduate experience, who displays excellent leadership skills and has a strong flair for design. You will deliver full design services tailored to our client needs from concept design through to project handover. A demonstrated ability to manage the design and delivery of large, technical projects is beneficial.
In the medium term, you will champion the team's vision of creating a sustainable architecture practice and assist the expansion of the architectural discipline within Arup Ireland. Together we will build a diverse team with a balance of skills to enact this vision.
Does this role inspire you? We're looking for someone who is passionate about Architecture. We also value:
Masters/Bachelor of Architecture.Minimum 8 years post-graduate experience.Registered Member, or eligible for membership, of the RIAI.Excellent design flair with a combination of creative and analytical skills.Experience leading large design teams on complex projects from concept through to completion and delivering work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong emphasis on detail design and construction.Knowledge of the Irish Building Regulations and BCAR system or UK Building Regulation approval system.Experience of working in a BIM environment required, experience in REVIT desirable.Ability to collaborate with other disciplines to produce fully coordinated project information including BIM models, drawings, schedules, and specifications.Experience in delivering sustainable buildings preferred. This can be demonstrated through any recognised certification processes; knowledge of embodied carbon and life cycle analysis and/or designs using circular economy principles.Ambition to engage in digital design solutions to support efficient working practices and automation.Working knowledge of the Science, Industry and Technology business is favourable.Ability to use Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign is desirable.Fluency in spoken and written English and strong graphic communication skills are essential.Why Arup?
