FT provides planning, environmental studies, preliminary planning design to our clients in the renewable energy sector and provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, greenways, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
FT is recruiting a Senior CAD Technician to join our Sustainable Infrastructure team in the Cork, Dublin or Carlow office. The post will suit candidates with a certificate or diploma in Engineering or CAD with at least 7 years of experience who are keen to apply their professional skills and gain experience in a busy and dynamic civil, structural and environmental engineering practice.
FT's ResponsibilitiesPreparation and presentation of drawings and design outputs, using information provided by the Engineering/Design teamAssume ownership of work, and work with project managers to ensure completion of deliverables to agreed timetablesUse initiative and knowledge to support the CAD team and grow expertise in the use of CAD software and other toolsProvide guidance and support to other members of the CAD teamSkills / QualificationsCertificate or diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Engineering or CAD7 years post-graduate experience in AutoCAD for civil engineering projectsExperienced in developing detailed infrastructure design drawings using AutoCAD software, including detailed structural drawingsKnowledge of CADS RC, RC detailing/schedulingKnowledge of Revit Structures and Civil 3D an advantageExperience working in a Consulting Engineering or similar companyExcellent communication, management and organisational skills requiredExperience working and co-ordinating with technical specialists and engineersEfficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiativeExperience organising and delivering complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframeThe ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quicklyAn attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate including a competitive salary, shorter working Friday, medical benefit, hybrid working and professional body support.
