SENIOR HIGHWAYS/TRANSPORTATION/ACTIVE TRAVEL ENGINEER JOB ROLE OCSC currently have an opportunity for a senior civil engineer within our Highways, Transportation & Active Travel Engineering Team. This role is seen as an opportunity for a senior engineer to join our team and continue their professional development across a wide variety of project types with considerable potential for future opportunities within OCSC. Examples range from civil infrastructure projects including highways and cycle schemes to multidisciplinary engineering projects such as residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed use developments.
The role will primarily involve working with our Dublin based team but can facilitate a hybrid working system which does not require the candidate to be based in Dublin full time.
Key aspects of the role will include a combination of the following:
Project engineering, management and provision of engineering expertise involving a vast range of multi-disciplinary and civil engineering projects of varying scales and complexity within Ireland and the UK.Client facing and focused, the role will involve leading and attending internal and external project design reviews, workshops and progress meetings.Undertake and supervise alignment design and modelling using a variety of software including Civil 3D and Site 3D with integration to BIM.Potential to get involved in contract and tender preparation and management including preparation of contract documents, works specifications, bills of quantities etc.Potential to oversee the delivery of transport engineering services including traffic modelling, transport assessments etc.Technical report writing.Technical checking and design reviews.Opportunity for line management, mentoring and development of junior staff.Form a key part of our Civil Engineering Team Senior Management, involved in decision making, strategizing, procurement etc.The above are a selection of the responsibilities which will be associated with the role but the successful candidate is not required to have extensive expertise in all areas. EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
Must hold a degree in Civil Engineering or appropriate equivalent.Must be a Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland or recognised equivalent) or in the process of becoming Chartered.8+ years post graduate relevant experience in the areas of highways, transportation and/or active travel engineering.Shall be proficient and able to demonstrate clear and successful project management skills and technical competence.Have experience dealing directly with clients and/or project stakeholders and forging effective relationships in a professional / customer focused manner.Demonstrate a 'can do' attitude.The successful candidate shall avail of the following package:
