Senior Civil Resident Engineer - Wastewater

Details of the offer

As Senior Resident Engineer Wastewater you will provide supervision and management on a programme of work to deliver new and upgrade wastewater network improvements in the Baile na nGall area in Waterford.
Due to on-going contract awards this Global Engineering Consultancy firm have a requirement for a Senior Resident Engineer to work on wastewater projects.
You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in either the design or construction of wastewater upgrades, treatment works, pumping stations etc.
As Senior Resident Engineer you will be responsible for: Driving delivery of projects on site on behalf of Uisce ireann with a particular focus on health & safety, the time for delivery, cost management and ensuring that the project is constructed to the specified quality standard Ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract documents (works requirements).
Ensuring that all materials incorporated into the permanent work, and all workmanship are executed in accordance with the applicable specification as set out in the works requirements and that required testing is carried out.
Monitoring and reporting on works being carried out to the Employer's Requirements Ensuring that the employer's representative, the relevant project manager and Uisce ireann are fully informed of all issues arising on site.
Implementing Uisce ireann safety policies and standards on the construction projects Reviewing and commenting on project/site specific HSQE documentation eg RAMS, TMP etc Monitoring compliance with contract health and safety requirements and contractor's proposals Carry out weekly documented health and safety site reviews, follow up and confirm satisfactory close out of health and safety issues Ensuring that any accident or incident on site, no matter how minor, is reported to Uisce ireann and actively assist with the accident investigation and implementation of corrective and preventative actions Actively participating in Uisce ireann HSQE team monthly inspections and confirming satisfactory close out of any issues identified.
To be considered for the role you will have the following experience: At least 10 years satisfactory post graduate experience in on-site supervision, contract administration and project management of civil engineering works to include water or wastewater projects.
A Degree in a related discipline such as Civil Engineering.
Capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping works records.
Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
Satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts, experience in FIDIC and Public Works forms of contract would be advantageous but not essential.
A current and valid SafePass card is essential, confined spaces training would be desirable.
You will also have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to act within a team at all times.
With the nature of the role there may be travel involved so you should be flexible in terms of travel.
