DescriptionBDO Ireland is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant to join our Financial Services team. We are looking for someone who is eager to embrace a fresh challenge within our dynamic Risk and Advisory Services Department.
As a Senior Consultant within the FS RAS (Risk and Advisory Services) team at BDO, you will play a critical role in supporting management to manage risk for our clients and helping them build resilient businesses in today's ever-changing business landscape.
You will join a dynamic team of internal auditors, accountants, technology, and business transformation experts, contributing to the innovative methodologies, technology, and collaborative approach that define our service offerings.
Key ResponsibilitiesRisk Management and Advisory: Organising audits, including determining timelines, assigning staff, and structuring the audit process.Supporting the oversight of the audit process, including the preparation and review of audit documentation.Investigating and resolving clients' technical inquiries.Collaborating with clients to understand their business and build long-lasting relationships, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs.Team Leadership: Coaching and guiding the growth of trainees to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.Contributing to the training of staff by leading training sessions.Working closely with Management to ensure effective client service delivery.Proactive Collaboration: Working proactively, managing tasks independently while actively collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.Regularly communicate with management to identify opportunities for enhancing service delivery and offering additional client services.Agile Working and Inclusivity: Embracing BDO's commitment to agile working, adapting to work in ways that suit individual needs and the demands of the task.Contributing to a diverse and inclusive culture, valuing every team member for their unique contributions.Professional Development Leveraging BDO's resources, programs, and frameworks to chart a clear path for personal and career development.Identifying and pursuing opportunities for continuous learning, contributing to your professional growth within the organisation. Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseHold ACA or ACCA qualifications or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institution with relevant experience in risk management, internal audit, and systems/controls testing.Demonstrate a good understanding of Financial Services, gained through 2 or more years' relevant experience in the sector.Ability to foster a collaborative team culture, ensuring effective communication and coordination with diverse cross-functional teams.Stay informed about compliance, legislative, and market issues affecting client businesses.
