The Senior Contracts Manager will be working alongside the senior management team of the organisation with a view of achieving and improving operational and commercial success.
Senior Contracts Manager Responsibilities: Proposing suitable changes to design to improve savings, ease construction programme, enhance specification and quality on completion. Preparing and completing commercial monitor reconciliation on a monthly basis to highlight areas of overspend or savings. Ensuring receipt of and being fully aware of all information at Estimating/Surveying handover. Development of Project Commercial Plans and ensuring buy-in from the project team and management. Provision of advice and feedback as projects progress to senior management. Plan, maintain and control the financial administration of all construction work to obtain and maintain maximum cost effectiveness. Understanding and implementing the requirements of the company Commercial Management Procedure. Ensuring effective procurement and supply chain management. Being commercially aware, ensuring an efficient and effective change control system is in place. Development of recovery strategies where necessary. Implementation of effective means of controlling contractual documentation on the project. Management of all commercial/contractual related aspects. Actively participating in site project meetings to discuss and resolve commercial matters. Functioning autonomously and jointly with senior management, making management decisions pertaining to project issues. Acting as a liaison between the company and external Client executives to resolve issues or concerns. Instructing, coaching and directing project staff regarding construction, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Managing day-to-day operational duties. Demonstrating continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes. Developing and delivering progress reports, analysing results and troubleshooting problem areas. Building, growing and developing business relationships for the success of the project. Necessary Requirements: Proven track record of seeing projects through to successful completion. Strong customer focus skills, with the ability to build relationships and networks with strategic stakeholders. Sound knowledge of current construction techniques, build ability and value engineering concepts. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Financial, commercial and business development acumen. Analytical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment. Technically competent with the ability to set and track project milestones and deliverables.
