The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modelling.
This role involves linking and analyzing diverse data sets to generate actionable insights, building predictive models, and implementing practical applications of Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
The Senior Data Scientist will also be responsible for creating dashboards, communicating findings to non-technical stakeholders, and ensuring data integrity throughout the process.
This is a 2-year contract with a hybrid work schedule, requiring both onsite and offsite presence.
Key Responsibilities Data Integration and Analysis: Link and combine distinct data sets to uncover new insights, working with various data structures and formats.
Clean and preprocess data to ensure it is ready for analysis.
Conduct descriptive and exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns.
Predictive Modelling and AI Implementation: Build and validate predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
Implement AI applications, including GenAI and LLMs, to address business challenges.
Apply statistical, mathematical, and predictive modelling methods to drive business strategy.
Dashboard Development: Develop interactive dashboards (using tools such as PowerBI) to communicate insights and facilitate decision-making.
Stakeholder Communication: Present analytical findings and complex concepts in a clear, non-technical manner to business stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven solutions align with business objectives.
Key Qualifications and Skills Education: Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in a Numerate Discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Economics).
Experience: Minimum of 7+ years experience in data science, data analytics, or a related field.
Practical experience in data processing, SQL programming, and data analytics.
Proficient in statistical programming languages such as R and Python, with familiarity with libraries/packages (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Caret).
Background in data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling.
Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
Expertise in developing PowerBI dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
Experience working with GenAI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Technical Competencies: Strong understanding of data structures, transformation methodologies, and data integration techniques.
Knowledge of GDPR and AI Act compliance as it pertains to data science applications.
Experience in business strategy and understanding of how to align data science solutions with organizational goals.
Communication and Problem Solving: Ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical users in a clear, actionable manner.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on teamwork and business outcomes.
Other Requirements Availability: Must be available to start on the specified contract commencement date.
