Senior Dietitian In Nutrition Support

The Senior Dietitian will lead the clinical nutrition service to patients under the care of the Infectious diseases service.
It is mainly an unscheduled care service with admissions via ED, so includes general internal medicine admissions.
Nutrition support as part of treatment of acute illness and rehabilitation is a high focus for this cohort and the full MDT is involved.
St Bernads and St Marthas are the main inpatient area.
Patients can discharge to home, homelessness, Fairview post acute care ( under Mater governance) and to rehab settings as well as nursing homes.
The patients require nutrition support due to: ? active infectious disease such as Hepatitis, TB or MRSA; ? complex skin and soft tissue infections as well as bone/joint infections; ? Wound management, pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and this maybe on a background of other nutrition related comorbidities such as diabetes.

This is a permanent senior dietitian post.
