The purpose of the Sr. Director role –Statistics, Data and Analytics is to provide strategic leadership to all the assets within the portfolio under the following areas: Discovery & Development (i.e., non-clinical), Immunology, Diabetes and Complications, Neuroscience, CM&C or Oncology, Advanced Analytics and Access) Strategy and Capabilities. The Sr. Director will also provide overall leadership including: supervision, mentoring/coaching, career development, and performance management for statisticians, statistical analysts and data management of the respective area.

PeopleResponsible for coaching and mentoring staff for excellenceAccountable for overall performance of direct reportsResponsible for directing employee career developmentProvide leadership and direction to staff regarding departmental policies, organizational goals, objectives, performance management and company policiesEnsure staff members receive appropriate training to perform their jobsResponsible for recruiting, hiring, and effectively on-boarding and integrating new staff to the teamDevelop, Implement and Manage Statistical and Data Management LeadershipEnsure proactive leadership development at all levels within Global Statistical sciences (GSS) and Data and Analytics (DnA)Ensure full implementation of LRL@Cork as applicable to GSS and DnA strategy at all levelsAccountable for recruiting, identifying & retaining top talent, and managing performance to ensure therapeutic area/discovery & development and functional successEnsure appropriate accountability on operational metricsCollaborate with Operations Leader to ensure appropriate operational supportProvide scientific leadership and coaching at both a strategic and tactical levelOversee management of product portfolios development and post launch activities including assignment and allocation of Statistics and Statistical Analysts resourcesCommunicate and contract with infrastructure partners (e.g., Information Technology regulatory, scientific communications, Clinical Operations and Intelligent Automation)Ensure compliance to internal and external standards and SOPsMaintain a work environment that upholds the Lilly values.Strategy & PrioritiesInclude Advanced Analytics and Access Capabilities (AAAC) priorities including research specific to the therapeutic area throughout value chain and within discovery & developmentSolicit local geographical (LRL@Cork) input and help integrate their needs into therapeutic area plans and other centers (e.g., LRL@LCCI)Provide consulting, and coaching to product Statistics and Statistical Analysts personnel to ensure that appropriate product AA strategies are developed and delivered by global strategyEnsure that input is provided for molecule development teams for completion of AA evaluation as per global strategyReview the technical computing platform and align with global strategy for readiness and participate in pilots for potential early adaptationEnsure that study related activities are sourced in accordance with GSS and DnA sourcing strategy.Influence Strategy in Respective AreaA core member of the Leadership team at CorkEngage therapeutic area platform and other regional leaders and thought leaders to understand the customer needs and help drive strategyContribute as appropriate to regulatory strategy, clinical plans, protocol designs, analysis plans, data flow and disclosures for the studies that have the core functions located in LRL@CorkAccountable for major study design elements for key studies for a brand/molecule for the molecules that have the core functions located in LRL@CorkEnsure collaboration between statistics and data management, medical, regulatory, Observational and Medical Affairs and other regions occurs and recommend appropriate clinical trial designs to provide relevant evidence for the studies including those with core functions located in LRL@CorkEnsure appropriate opportunities are available to Cork Stats, SAs and data management to engage and contribute to innovative designs and implementation to enhance overall efficiency.Minimum Qualification RequirementsPh.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics with at least 5 years of experience in Drug Research and DevelopmentMinimum of 3 years of Management or Leadership ExperienceOther Information/Additional PreferencesExperience in managing clinical data and understanding drug development, approval and launch processAble to manage a large portfolio and experience managing peopleAble to communicate effectively and influence within the organizationDepth in one or more research disciplinesAble to inspire and set strategic directionAble to manage for resultsOperates well across boundariesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and negotiation skillsEstablished record of successfully developing employeesAble to develop local excellence with global mindset.
