Senior Engineer – Drainage

Our client is one of Ireland's largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment and Renewables. Our client provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, greenways, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Engineer (Drainage) to join their Sustainable Infrastructure team in one of their multiple Irish offices.
The successful candidate will:
be a Chartered Engineer, or in the process of achieving Chartered status, and be experienced in the delivery of drainage networks for highway, active travel and/or greenway and urban development projects through the planning and design phases.have the ability to deal directly with clients and stakeholders, and be capable of coordinating with multi-disciplinary designers on infrastructure projects.be given the opportunity to lead the delivery on a number of our clients infrastructure, urban development and renewable energy projects.The post will suit candidates with at least 7 years' experience keen to apply their professional skills and gain experience in a busy and dynamic multi-disciplinary engineering practice.

ResponsibilitiesLeading the delivery of drainage designs for infrastructure projects including highways, active travel, greenway, renewable energy and urban development projectsDesign of drainage networks, ponds, attenuation and SuDsLead the hydrological and flood risk assessment for various sitesWorking knowledge of modelling software such as InfoDrainage, Micro Drainage, Causeway Flow and/or Autodesk Storm and SewerPlanning and managing CAD documentation working closely with CAD TechniciansWorking closely with other Engineers, Ecologists and Scientists within FTSupervising and monitoring junior staff within the Sustainable Infrastructure sectorsPreparation of technical reports, tender and proposal documentsAttend onsite meetings with the client and other professionalsEnsure projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the clientEnsure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management SystemsEnsure compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation Skills / QualificationsDegree in Civil Engineering7 years post-graduate experience in Civil EngineeringChartered Engineer status, or be in the process of achieving Chartered statusExperienced in the design of highway drainage systems including SuDs. Experience in Nature Based Solutions is an advantage.Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plusWorking knowledge of civil design softwareExcellent communication, management, analytical and organisational skills requiredExperience working and coordinating with technical specialists and engineersExperience working in a Consulting Engineering or similar companyEfficient work methods, functioning both as part of a team and on own initiativeThe ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quicklyMust be prepared to travel to site visits and client meetingsFull Drivers Licence An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
