The Senior Engineering Manager for Apple Data Governance will own the development of a company-wide compliance reporting service; ensuring data integrity, privacy, and security across our diverse data assets. Establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards, demonstrating deep technical expertise in data engineering, dashboarding skills, and analytics are key to success in this position. DescriptionStrategy and Leadership: Define and implement Apple's strategy for compliance KPI reporting, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements. Lead a team of engineers to build and optimize a comprehensive compliance reporting service, integrating data engineering, dashboarding, and analytics capabilities.Policy Development: Collaborate closely with User Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop and advance data governance policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure these frameworks support data quality, accessibility, and security throughout the data lifecycle.Compliance and Risk Management: Stay informed about regulatory changes (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure Apple's compliance with global data protection laws. Develop effective solutions to mitigate data governance risks across the organization.Data Quality and Metadata Management: Establish frameworks for assessing data quality and managing metadata. Drive initiatives to enhance data accuracy, completeness, and reliability within the compliance reporting service.Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business units, legal, security, compliance, and privacy teams to embed data governance principles into operational processes. Foster cross-functional collaboration on compliance reporting initiatives.Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of senior software engineers, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Minimum QualificationsDegree in Computer Science / Information Systems (or related field) or proven experience in line with requirementsProven experience and expertise across data governance, data management, or related fields in a leadership roleStrong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry best practicesTrack record of successfully implementing data governance frameworks and driving organizational changeExcellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organizationPreferred QualificationsExperience in technology companies or environments with large-scale data operations
