Position Overview AWN is expanding its Environmental Team and is currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team based in Dublin, collaborating on challenging and exciting projects spanning various sectors, including data centres, large-scale residential developments (LDR), and commercial developments. The Environmental Team based in Dublin, includes a diverse group including environmental consultants, geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, and environmental scientists.
The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to scope and deliver projects in line with client requirements. Candidates should have good people skills, be driven, and also work well in a team environment. A balance of technical, communication/written and field skills is sought to flexibly contribute to a variety of different projects.
For the right candidate we will consider remote workers within the EU but the candidate would be required to travel to Ireland every now and then. Main Duties and Responsibilities As a Senior Environmental Consultant, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Coordinating Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports; and Industrial Emission (IE) Directive Licence.Technical report writing including preparation of EIA scoping and screening reports, Human Health Impact Assessment, waste management plansProviding leadership by overseeing, guiding, and managing junior team members and sub-consultants to meet project requirements effectively.Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.Assisting in project and program management for large and complex projects, including post-planning approval assistance.Preparation of and creating proposals to address client needsMinimum of 5 years experience working in the environmental sectorExperience preparing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and/or EPA Industrial Emissions LicensingMinimum BSc or BA (Hons) degree in environmental science or related discipline.Self-motivated, organised and capable of working on their own initiative.High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.Ability to problem solve and assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.Capacity to respond to tight timelines, reporting needs, and internal reporting structures.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.Preferred: >5 Years ExperienceFull Clean Driving Licence or Working towards would be beneficialPrevious experience in site inspection or environmental auditing.Expertise in the preparation of Environmental Liability Risk Assessments, Closure Restoration, and Aftercare Management Plans in accordance with current guidance.Experience in coordinating environmental monitoring programs (water, effluent, discharge license-related) and preparation of periodic compliance reports.Membership/Chartership of a recognized Environmental Professional body such as IEMA, IGI, CIWM, CIWEM, etc.Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
