Senior Estimator

Our client, a leading Main Contractor in Ireland, is looking to employ a Senior Estimator who will assist in the ongoing development of systems and procedures used in tendering, and will keep up to date with contractual changes and other developments in the construction industry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and collating accurate, detailed and timely tenders based on drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and other information to secure profitable work orders. This involves sourcing subcontractor and supplier quotations, analysing information for ambiguity, risk and qualification, and seeking clarification where necessary.
A very competitive payment package is on offer for this role. Key Responsibilities:Create and submit tenders to clientsMeet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed servicesAnalyse and review project drawings, technical specifications, and contract requirements to ensure clarity on what is to be tenderedUnderstand the project/program and its requirementsDiscuss elements of the project with Site, Production, or other sources to ensure a proper cost base is establishedUse software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgetingBuild relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, architects, glazing consultants, etc.)Obtain and review subcontractors' and material suppliers' quotations, negotiating to ensure quotes fulfil the contract documentsComplete Budgeting Schedules for projects after order is receivedProvide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costingTrack the projects you are responsible for and work with Sales to convert to an orderSupport Sales with potential customer requests for technical information, updated quotes, or any required product certificationManage the recording of all quotes on the server in an organized fashionFollow up on all enquiries, contacting clients and keeping them informed about when they will receive a full price and obtaining feedbackMinimum Requirements:Recognised third-level qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Accountancy, or other relevant disciplineExcellent analytical and numerical skillsAbility to review and analyse construction drawings, contract documentation, and specificationsWell-honed time management skillsExcellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation, as well as with external partiesHighly engaged, proactive, and motivated individual with a strong commercial understandingPrevious experience estimating small and large-scale projectsExperience with estimating software and spreadsheet analysisAbility to use CAD and other programmes for material take-offFor more information on this position please call Bobby O'Sullivan on 087 916 0169 or apply online and a member of the Ward Personnel team will be in touch.
