We would like to invite applications for the position of Senior Healthcare Assistant in Loughshinny Residential Home, Skerries Co. Dublin Purpose of the Role To provide support and share responsibility with the Clinical Team for the assessment of patient's needs, training and orientation of new staff and the ongoing day-to-day supervision of the Health Care Assistant's Team. Roles and Responsibilities Clinical: Have a knowledge of each patient and their care plan to successfully promote their good health and wellbeing. Have a knowledge of complex needs of each individual patient and liaise with the Nursing Team regarding same. Supervisory Delegate staff and monitor all HCA activities. Ensure compliance with uniform, work permit and time management policies Ensure the team are updated on any changes to care plans or resident's health status. Identify training needs of the team to be able to provide appropriate care to all patients. Learning & Development: Promote learning and development by encouraging individual's interests. Encourage staff to communicate their learning needs and identify areas for improvement. Eligibility criteria-Qualifications and/or experience Essential Qualifications and Experience Full QQI Level 5 qualifications Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Residential, Hospital environment and should be working in Beaumont Lodge for over 6 months Previous experience as a Team Leader/Mentor Desirable Qualifications QQI Level 6 or higher in Healthcare Support or equivalent. QQI Level 6 in Leadership and Supervisory Management Qualifications Rostering skills Essential Criteria Cheerful and compassionate nature Be caring, patient, empathetic and have a strong interest in care of the elderly Sound judgment, initiative and problem-solving abilities and be able to pay attention to the details. Someone that would be a good team member and would respond positively to management and direction. Skill sets that could be value adding to social programmes and activities and willingness to use them.
