Senior Infrastructure Engineer

12+ Months Contract working on supporting multiple projects Cork based role - Hybrid model with two days in the office €450-€550 Daily Rate DOE This role will be instrumental in supporting compute infrastructure and projects across multiple countries and facilities.
You will lead and coordinate technical activities with vendors, plan and execute projects, and ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
Though hands-on work is limited to server-related tasks, you will direct vendors on infrastructure around the server environment.
Your Key Responsibilities: Support and manage infrastructure projects across multiple regions in line with global engineering directions.
Direct and inform vendors on technical activities while ensuring timely delivery of infrastructure solutions.
Oversee patching and security compliance using BigFix, managing vulnerability remediation and reporting to ensure security standards are met.
Work closely with project teams to ensure SOX and non-SOX compliance.
Coordinate with project managers to plan your own work and help manage vendor tasks, while driving projects in line with company's best practices.
Support strategic infrastructure programs, focusing on OT Compute, digital transformation, cloud migration, and other enterprise-level initiatives.
Your Technical Expertise: Operating Systems: Expertise in Windows administration and familiarity with Linux.
Ability to work on servers and direct infrastructure tasks.
Networking: Solid knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, from a compute infrastructure perspective.
Automation: Experience in automating tasks using PowerShell (or Python) is essential.
Virtualization & Cloud: Experience with VMware, ESXi, and Azure Cloud technologies for server deployment and management.
Backup & Recovery: Strong understanding of backup principles and recovery techniques across environments.
Cybersecurity: Familiarity with risk assessments, data protection, and identity management principles.
Infrastructure Tools: Knowledge of BigFix, Symantec DCS, and Powerbroker for server patching and security management.
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles with a focus on Azure Infrastructure.
Vendor Management: Proven experience managing third-party vendors and outsourced services.
Infrastructure Planning: Experience planning and executing projects in collaboration with project managers and vendors.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to influence and collaborate effectively with global teams and vendors.
